Every student in the NYC Kids RISE Save for College Program automatically receives an NYC Scholarship Account with money already set aside for college and career training, unless their family chooses not to participate. Activate and view your child’s NYC Scholarship Account below to receive $25 more for their account!

What do I need to activate my child’s NYC Scholarship Account?

Your child’s nine-digit Student ID Number (OSIS number). This is the number you used to activate your child’s NYC Schools Account. If you don’t have it, you can find this number by signing in to your NYC Schools Account at schoolsaccount.nyc, on your child’s report card, or by asking your child’s Parent Coordinator or school.

If you are not able to activate your child’s account, check to make sure the information you entered is accurate. If you are still having trouble, please contact your child’s school to confirm that your child is in the Save for College Program.

Can I activate my child’s free NYC Scholarship Account?

All first, second, third, fourth, and fifth grade families in the Save for College Program can now activate and view their children’s NYC Scholarship Accounts.
Families of kindergartners, and other eligible students who are new to the Program this school year, will be able to activate their children’s accounts in 2027.
Participating students in sixth grade or older who enrolled in the Save for College Program while attending one of the 39 pilot schools in geographic District 30 can still activate their child’s NYC Scholarship Account until the last day of eighth grade. At this time, this does not apply to students who started kindergarten in school year 2021-2022, first grade in school year 2022-2023, second grade in school year 2023-2024, third grade in school year 2024-2025, fourth grade in 2025-2026, or fifth grade in school year 2026-2027.

Who can participate?

Students in kindergarten through fourth fifth grade at NYC public schools (including participating charter schools) are included in the Program, no matter what their family income or immigration status is.
